How land auctions work. Land that isn’t claimed, or that is put up for auction, is held by the Lunar Depot and sold to the highest bidder, in credits. The first bid must be at least the opening bid. Each later bid must beat the leader by at least 5%.

While you lead, your bid is held. If someone outbids you, it’s refunded at once. A bid in the last five minutes adds five minutes to the clock. When the auction ends, the highest bidder gets the parcel — surface and minerals — and it’s recorded in the Lunar Registry.
